MARKSMAN SERIES LARGE FIELD ROTARY MARKER (EASTEC 2019)

Marksman’s Dynamic Large Field Rotary Marker will be on display at this year’s Eastec Exhibition in West Springfield Massachusetts next week (May 14,15 and 16 of 2019)

This unique system offers a Large 250mm x 250mm Marking Area making it super versatile for large components, multiple component marking and populating variable data on Metal Nameplates. This system is equipped with our Extended Height T-500-H Heavy Duty Manual Adjustable Z-Axis Tool Post which securely supports the large Marking Head Format while offering additional height allowing taller components to be marked.

As with previous generations of our Rotary Models, this equipment is equipped with a very heavy duty Precision Rotary Drive and 3-Jaw Chuck or Collet Assembly. 

Standard models can accommodate a 6.0” (15.24cm) diameters component. We can also modify this machine to accommodate larger diameters as needed. This system is a Ball Screw Driven Design which boasts the highest level of accuracy and repeatability available. It offers marking speeds of up to 5 characters per second (2.5mm) and is highly efficient at marking text of various fonts, mirror image characters, vector images (logos), 2D Barcodes, QR Codes, 2D Matrix and UID Code Technology. These systems are very robust with no cast components. All Precision machines components go into this very unique Marking System. 

The most valuable feature of this machine in our opinion is the Positive Locating Rotary Axis Slide Feature. This prevents you from having to manually set-up and align the rotary System to your Marking Head each time. The rotary axis stays aligned and can slide in to use and lock in place in one (1) second. 

If you need to use the system to mark a Nameplate or a flat component, unlock your rotary Axis, slide it out from under the marking head, pull up your new program and you’re Marking Flat stock. Do the same two steps again and you’re back marking Round stock. It’s that easy!

BALL SCREW vs PRECISION REINFORCED COG BELT Driven Dot Peen Marking Systems

Millennium Signatures “Marksman Series” Computerized Dot Peen Marking Systems is a comprehensive collection of equipment models, all offering their own unique features and abilities. 
Among their many differences, they can be quite easily divided simply into two (2) groups just by the drive technology they are equipped with. 
We have the Precision Reinforced Cog Belt Driven models and the slightly higher-end Ball Screw Driven models. While it’s true the Ball Screw Technology does have some advantages over the Reinforced Cog Belt Driven models, don’t fall into the thinking that the Reinforced Cog Belt Driven Systems are inferior or not worthy for those of you who believe strongly in buying a good product and doing things right the first time!
It is true that Ball Screw is a little more precise and does have better registration, repeatability long term, but the reality is they really only show an advantage in some situations. For example, if you are doing Machine-Readable Codes all the time on a regular production basis and your markings are not only required to be clean, sharp and precise to the naked eye, but also to today’s world of high definition scanning technology, then yes there would be an advantage to going to a Ball Screw Design for the very best possible code generation. Ball Screw is also beneficial when it comes to longer distances as in the X or Y-Axis travel of your Marking Head. Our Model MH-250 Marking Head which features a larger marking area of 250mm (9,84”) x 250mm (9.84”) is an example of where we use the Ball Screw Drive mechanism because it allows for us to maintain a tighter tolerance over a greater span. If we build custom Marking Heads for a customer that cover an even larger span, naturally we would continue to stay with the Ball Screw Drive. 
Ball Screw is also a little longer lasting, so should your machine be running around the clock or performing a very high number of cycles every hour ongoing then this might be a reason to invest in the slightly more expensive Ball Screw Driven Technology. Ball Screw Systems also yield some additional benefit when marking really small characters. The extra precision of these units will start to show when marking characters under 2.0mm in height with one of our precision marking tips such as the PH-16 or the LP-06. 
However, eight or nine of every ten Computerized Dot Peen Marking Systems sold are based on the Precision Reinforced Cog Belt Driven Technology and it is not to be underestimated. It is remarkable the character generation and repeatability these systems provide, year after year. They are also highly proficient at Barcodes such as 2D Matrix, UID and QR codes, it’s only recommended to upgrade if these markings are very high in volume. 
When demonstrating these systems, most clients will not even ask to see the Ball Screw Driven models as they feel it is not at all necessary. The marking is extremely clean and the codes read perfectly. The feedback we get from clients that have owned these systems for years, consistently indicates that they continue to perform like new. There is no noticeable deterioration and they are very happy with the reliable, maintenance-free experience they have had.

73XNW MARKING INK

What to know about 73X and 73XNW Series Aerospace Grade Marking Inks.

BASIC DESCRIPTION
This is our most versatile marking ink. For the past 20 years, it has been used by leading aircraft and space component manufacturers for general purpose marking. In space applications, the out-gassing characteristics are extremely low.

SPECIFICATIONS
When applied properly, the ink meets or exceeds the performance requirements of G.S.A Specification: A-A-208 TYPE I

Supplied by Millennium Signatures Marking Systems Inc., they are shipped from Buffalo, New York in the USA or Burlington, Ontario in Canada.

DANGEROUS GOODS
This product is classified as a “Dangerous Goods” product and in some cases will require some additional fees to cover costs associated with the special packaging, labelling, documentation of the product above and beyond the transportation fees themselves. This is unavoidable in a lot of cases

RECONDITIONER
Along with the Aerospace Grade Marking Ink which is available in a variety of colours, but always maintained in stock in BLACK, RED and WHITE if the 73XNW Grade “Reconditioner” which is the corresponding solvent which should be used to thin the 73XNW Series Marking Inks or used in Clean-up Applications. It is not a requirement that both be purchased, they are sold independent of one another, but it is recommended that you have Fresh Reconditioner on-hand if you are using the Marking Ink.

BASE
The base of this Marking Ink is Ethyl Alcohol. This is NOT a two-part Marking Ink. It is ready to use right out of the bottle unless it should need to be thinned out some using the Reconditioner to suit your application.

SHELF LIFE
When stored in a cool place in a sealed container it is stable for a minimum of one (1) year. However, periodic exposure of this ink to the air will cause it to become more viscous (thicken). The addition of the 73X Reconditioner will thin the ink back to a suitable consistency.

DRYING TIME
Room Temperature, humidity and ink film thickness all may have a significant effect in drying time. 
On average, however, the ink when applied with a rubber stamp and pad will dry to the touch in approximately 6 minutes.

CORROSION
Since this ink is NOT compounded with any toxic or harmful acids, it is non-corrosive on Aluminum Alloys, Magnesium, Stainless Steels, Titanium or many of the exotic Space Grade metals.

APPLICATION
It is recommended that the use of a Rubber, Cloth or Linen Type of Stamp in combination with a Stamp Pad is best. All of these items are available through Millennium Signatures Marking Systems Inc., and Custom Stamps can be shipped out within 24-48 Hours.

CUSTOM LASER SINTERED METAL NAMEPLATES

At Millennium Signatures Marking Systems Inc., we prepare Metal Nameplates and Signs to your exacts requirements. Various materials, various thickness, with holes and slots or without. Square corners or rounded corners, whatever you need. We have several processes including Aluminum Anodized Plates, Deep Etch & Fill on Steel & Aluminum, Engraved & Filled and our most popular process Custom Laser Sintered Metal Signs and Nameplates.
Our unique Laser Sintering Process uses a special formulation of granular ceramic materials baked into the cavity created while Laser Marking. This process is highly effective on Stainless Steel and Aluminum Plates and Products. 
The marking is approximately 0.004” in depth and the ceramic powder that is fused into the material provides a Beautiful even texture and great contrast! Laser Sintered Nameplates have been proven to meet the requirements of ASME Certified Shops and are far less expensive than the Deep Etch & Fill Process, especially when it comes to a variety of different variable data or low volumes.
